2018
First Date: May 28, 2018
The couple had their date at a local restaurant by Stacey’s home that Theron had “always wanted to try”, followed by a short hike down to the Saratoga Hot Springs at Utah Lake. Stacey emailed her dad afterwards and said, “I’ve got my fingers crossed with this one!”
First Comes Courting, then comes…now wait a second!
Stacey and Theron continued to date throughout the Summer and Fall without any long term plans. However…The last week of December, Stacey had a dream that she was laying in the hospital holding a baby with Theron at her side. Knowing what these dreams usually mean, she calmly (ha!) checked to see if her intuitions were correct, and sure enough, on December 31,2018, Stacey learned she and Theron were about to add an addition to their families.
2019
It’s a Girl!
After the couple confirmed their little one’s heartbeat at the hospital, Stacey had yet another dream: Standing in a bright room in a wedding dress, she turned around to see her tall giant smirking in the doorway. A young girl with long curly hair flowing down to her waist came running in and wrapped her arms around Stacey’s legs in a huge embrace, exclaiming “Mommy!”.
Not knowing what this meant (or perhaps unwilling to accept the time frame!), she sent a plea out asking what she was supposed to and heard only: “be patient.”
Now…if you know Stacey, you know patience is NOT a virtue that comes naturally to her, but when tests confirmed that they were indeed having a baby girl, she knew she had to leave things in God’s hands, or as Theron would say, “trust the river”.
The Hearts in the Middle
The rest of the year was full of changes for these two! In the Spring, Theron started a new job working in sales for Onset Financial. In the summer, Stacey stopped working as a teacher’s aide and started attending school to work towards a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
At the beginning of August, Stacey moved into a new apartment, and due to some unexpected needs arising in the family, had her three children move in with her the very same week the couple also welcomed Lily Elise Thompson into the world!
2020
We Don’t Talk About Bruno…or Covid
2020 was a weird year, what can we say. While everyone was adjusting to new routines, schools, family dynamics, COVID took over the nation. During the early months of the pandemic, Stacey and her kids moved from their tiny basement apartment to a cute home within school boundaries that gave the family some room to breathe.
The rest of the year was surrounded by an air of uncertainty the world over. The couple’s relationship was under a lot of strain, but they made things work…and thanks to Theron’s talent in hoarding, er…emergency preparedness!, Stacey and the kids NEVER RAN OUT OF TOILET PAPER!
2021
Learning to Make Lemonade…
In January 2021, Stacey’s three older kids moved back in with their father. Once again, this was an unexpected change, which resulted in extremely difficult struggles for everyone involved. The word trauma has somewhat lost its meaning in recent years, so the Millar/Thompson home tries to avoid its use whenever possible, but when it comes to summarizing 2021 for this blended family…the word is quite appropriate.
In March of 2021, Theron moved in with the girls to make it possible for Stacey to continue her schooling while taking care of Lily and her old children during this time of transition. He also left the job that was not proving to be a good fit for him and starting working as a Loan Officer Assistant with Veritas Funding. When life gives you lemons…dig deep to find that inner sugar and make some lemonade!
2022
Continued Evolution and New Experiences
After much deliberation, Stacey also decided that her current career path was not in the best interest of her family, and opted to try and find an alternative solution to her family’s needs. Meanwhile, with closer living arrangements, the Couple also grew closer together in all ways and enjoyed many adventures together!…
In February, the Couple enjoyed a company trip to the Dominican Republic with Theron’s team at Veritas. This was Stacey’s first trip outside of the United States, and this time with Theron proved to be one of the greatest experiences of her life.
She Said YES!
“The time is NOW”, so said Captain Picard in one of Stacey’s favorite Star Trek episodes the Couple was watching together one evening. This declaration hit home for Theron, and in August of 2022, hidden within the coved branches of their weeping willow tree, Theron asked Stacey for her hand in marriage, and she said, “It’s about dang time!”…j/k, she said, “well, if you’re sure…., then yes.”
2023
Two Steps Forward, One Step Back…
Well..as you probably guessed, he wasn’t ready. You’d think he would have learned by now that the “mundane” he feared is just not possible with Stacey around, but perhaps the Universe knew that Stacey wasn’t quite prepared for Theron yet either. Some pots need to stew a little longer before they are perfectly primed.
2023 was a year of stretching as individuals with a good deal of growing pains, as well as a year of acceptance of each other with wherever they were at in their own personal journey. It required a great deal of patience, and a great deal of love on both their parts. But in return, it was also a year of magic, blessing their relationship and bringing them closer than they had every been.
2024
Embracing the Power Within and the Beauty of the Present Moment!
Stacey was ready to move and Theron was along for the ride! In January and March, Stacey participated in two Tony Robbins events that fueled her passions and motivated her to start her own business centered on Healing and Wellness Services. The couple continued to enjoy sharing in each other’s personal growth, making improvements to their home, and going on adventures together!
Through the good and the bad, the roasting of marshmallows under the full moon and the pulling out of cactus needles in the wilderness of Zions, these two learned to support each other through all things that life put in their path, becoming a truly rooted, beautiful, and powerfully loving couple!
2025
If You Want Something Done Right….
With the last two years of climbing upwards (along with Lily proposing deals to her parents in return for their tying the knot, ha!), Stacey decided it was time to take matters into her own hands! She spent months planning the perfect Valentines that would be followed by a ridiculously over-the-top proposal in May, fit for a king (or Leo, lol!).
Stacey gathered decorations, candles, flowers, the ring (the engagement ring to rule them all!), helping hands….her plan even involved allowing Theron plenty of time to adjust to the M word, years in fact, but the Divine decided Stacey’s lesson in patience was over and moved to intervene…
After a health scare in early 2025 with dear Grandma Lyn, the couple traveled to Idaho to offer support. While there, she too expressed that she was done waiting for the couple’s big day… done enough to be brought to tears. With Theron being the big jokester that he is, when he asked Stacey if she was ready to make it official, she thought nothing of it and went to sleep…It came as a big surprise to her the following morning, when he announced to his Mama that the couple would be getting married in October!
He said YES!
Stacey was not about to have her efforts go to waste, despite Theron’s announcements. Upon returning home, Stacey put together a romantic evening for the pair, and with rose petals and candles galore, and “the Ring to Rule Them All” in hand, the lost princess proposed to the ruffean who helped her escape her tower and return to her true self, and this time, Mr. Theron Reed Millar said YES!
