2018
First Date: May 28, 2018
The couple met for the first time and had their first date at a restaurant near Stacey’s home (Six Sisters) that Theron had “always wanted to try.” The restaurant happened to be closed when they arrived and so they settled for the Chinese restaurant next door. Afterwards, they took a stroll to Saratoga Hot Springs at Utah Lake. Later that night Stacey emailed her dad and said, “I’ve got my fingers crossed with this one!”
First Comes Love, then comes…now wait a second!
Stacey and Theron continued to date throughout the Summer and Fall without any long term plans. However…The last week of December, Stacey had a dream that she was laying in the hospital holding a baby with Theron at her side. Having had dreams like this before, Stacey calmly (ha!) confirmed that she and Theron were indeed about to add a new addition to their families….Surprise!
2019
It’s a Girl!
About 8 weeks into her pregnancy, Stacey had another prophetic dream: Standing in a bright room in a wedding dress, she turned around to see her tall giant smirking at her in the doorway. A young girl with long curly hair flowing down to her waist came running in and wrapped her arms around Stacey’s legs in a huge embrace, exclaiming “Mommy!”.
Not knowing what this meant (or perhaps unwilling to accept the time line!), she sent a plea out to the Universe asking what she was supposed to do with this new information. All she heard back was, “be patient.” Now…if you know Stacey, you know patience is NOT a virtue that comes naturally to her, but when tests confirmed that they were indeed having a baby girl, Stacey committed to, well, as Theron would say, “trust in the river”.
The Hearts in the Middle
The rest of the year was full of changes for these two! In the spring, Theron started a new job working in sales for Onset Financial. In the summer, Stacey stopped working as a teacher’s aide and started attending school to work towards a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Due to some unexpected needs arising in the family, Stacey’s three children also move in with her – the very same week that the couple also welcomed little baby Lily into the world!
2020
We Don’t Talk About Bruno…or Covid
2020 was a weird year – what can we say?! While everyone was adjusting to new routines, schools, and family dynamics, COVID took over the nation. During the early months of the pandemic, Stacey and her kids moved from their tiny basement apartment to a cute home within school boundaries that gave the family some room to breathe… and thanks to Theron’s talent in hoarding, er…emergency preparedness!, Stacey and the kids NEVER RAN OUT OF TOILET PAPER!
2021
Learning to Make Lemonade…
2021 was once again filled with some unexpected changes for this brady bunch. In March of 2021, Theron moved in with Stacey and Lily to make it possible for Stacey to continue her schooling while taking care of Lily and her older children. He also left the job that proved to not be a good fit for him and returned to the mortgage industry, joining the team at Veritas Funding in Lehi. When life gives you lemons…dig deep to find that inner sugar and make some lemonade!
2022
New Adventures and Experiences
After much deliberation, Stacey also decided that her current career path was not in the best interest of her family, and opted to try and find an alternative solution to meet her family’s needs. In February, the couple had the opportunity to join a company trip to the Dominican Republic with Theron’s team at Veritas. This was Stacey’s first trip outside the United States, and this time with Theron proved to be one of the greatest experiences of her life.
She Said YES!
“The time is NOW”, so said Captain Picard in one of Stacey’s favorite Star Trek episodes the couple was watching together one evening. This declaration hit home for Theron and in August of 2022, hidden within the hanging branches of their weeping willow tree, he asked Stacey for her hand in marriage, to which she replied, “It’s about dang time!” j/k –She actually said, “well, if you’re sure…., then yes.”
2023
Two Steps Forward, One Step Back…
To everything there is a time and a season…so said someone, somewhere, anyway, and the bachelor of over 15 years was, indeed, NOT quite ready for the next chapter of his story. 2023 was a year of stretching as individuals, as well as a year of acceptance of each other with wherever these lovebirds were at in their own personal journey. It required a great deal of patience and a great deal of love on both their parts. But in return, it was also a year of magic, blessing their relationship and bringing them closer than they had every been.
2024
Embracing the Power Within & the Beauty of the Present Moment!
Stacey was done sitting still and Theron was along for the ride! In January and March, Stacey participated in two Tony Robbins events that fueled her passions and motivated her to start her own business centered on Healing and Wellness Services. The couple continued to enjoy sharing in each other’s personal growth, making improvements to their home, and going on adventures together!
Through the good and the bad, the roasting of marshmallows under the full moon and the pulling out of cactus needles in the wilderness of Zions, these two learned to support each other through all things that life put in their path, becoming a truly rooted, beautiful, and powerfully loving couple!
2025
If You Want Something Done Right….
Leave It to a Lady
With the last two years of love and growth (along with Lily proposing deals to her parents in return for their tying the knot!), Stacey decided it was finally time for their family to begin writing their next chapter. She spent months planning the perfect Valentines Day celebration, which would later be followed with a ridiculously over-the-top proposal fit for any king (or Leo, lol!) and a lengthy engagement period. However, as usual, the Divine had different plans…
After a health scare in early 2025 with dear Grandma Lyn, the couple traveled to Idaho to offer support. While there, Theron asked Stacey if she was ready to finally “make it official”, but with the big lug being the joker that he is, Stacey thought nothing of his second proposal and went to sleep. The following morning, when Theron announced to his Mama that the couple would be getting married in October, well…it came as a surprise to everyone, including the bride, ha!
He said YES!
Stacey was not about to have all of her proposal planning go to waste – despite Theron jumping the gun! Upon returning home to Utah, Stacey put together a romantic evening for the pair and….
The fair damsel proposed to her gentle, giant ruffian. This time, it was the groom-to-be who said YES and the couple went on living their crazy, beautiful life together, happily ever… more.
